We only accept PayPal. Why? We can print your mailing label with postage paid from PayPal with a couple of clicks, and get your book in the mail much sooner. (Driving to the post office is a 40 minute round trip so we only do it once a week).Every shipment has delivery confirmation included, so we can track your book without charging you 65 cents more for confirmation. Another reason to use PayPal is that we receive payment from PayPal without ever seeing your financial information. This means that you only give your credit card number once to PayPal, and use only your email address to pay online. It is a bit of a hassle to set up, but if you don't have a PayPal account, you should get one for all online transactions. You can also use your credit card for paypal paymentswithout having a paypal account.
Company Profile
CraftMasters published its first book in 1998, 500 Tips for Marketing Your Crafts, and has expanded since then to establish itself as one of the primary publishers of craft marketing information in America.
Our success lies in a passion for quality and for the beautiful craftwork that motivates us, our authors, photographers and designers. This has led our small but dedicated team to produce a fascinating and diverse list of books that are both inspirational and practical.
Our books provide information essential for your success: tips for artists and craftspeople, lists of shows and galleries, spreadsheet templates, books for promoters, and how-to books about fine craft production.
We are interested in publishing your how-to books and videos, with techniques explained that should be passed on to new craftspeople entering the industry. We pay up to $1,000 for dvds, CD’s, books, and articles related to crafts.
Author Submissions
Craftmasters Books will consider proposals for non-fiction books aimed at artists and craftspeople. We do not publish fiction, poetry or academic books.
All submissions must be made in writing. Though we will discuss concepts and ideas via email, we accept full publishing proposals by mail only. In such instances please include a one-page synopsis of your work, a contents page, one or two sample chapters, sample illustrations (on CD if you wish) and a brief biography stating previous (if any) publications.
We require all manuscript submissions to be typed, double-spaced, and printed out on 8 1/2" by 11" paper. Please avoid elaborate binding and staples, and ensure that all pages are numbered. If you are a commissioned author sending an electronic version of your manuscript via email or disk, please set the manuscript and all requirements out in a Word document. Please retain a copy of your manuscript, and do not send original illustrations unless otherwise agreed with us.
If you wish to have your manuscript returned, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope. In most cases, you should hear from us in four to six weeks.
